Our physical, sensory and cognitive abilities are not static – they change continuously depending on the contexts and situations that we are immersed in (see also Situation Induced Impairments).

Within HaptiMap a workbook has been developed with the key objective to make it easier for designers and developers to embed dynamic user experience, and thus accessibility, considerations and practices into the everyday design and development work. The workbook complemented by a Context card deck, a Context card poster, and a Context trail poster, involves methods and approaches to both create and communicate insights throughout the design and development process.

This HaptiMap workbook is designed to be actionable, allowing you to not only gain awareness about and reflect on dynamic user experience design, but also enabling you to directly apply new methods and approaches in your everyday work. It involves methods and approaches to both create and communicate insights throughout the design and development process. It will allow you to evaluate and reflect on how well your current design practices take into account situation-dependent abilities and dynamic user experiences, and it will allow you to take practical action towards implementing design practices that deliver accessible, useful and desirable products and services.
